ABOUT JAKE
Jake Schaefer is a rock (and roll!) multi instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, engineer, and dude in the world.
After moving to New York in 2022, he began work on a solo project, merging the pummeling energy of psychedelic garage acts like King Gizzard and Thee Oh Sees with the songwriting style of T. Rex and Wilco. He began work on his debut album in fall 2022, self producing and playing all instruments. The first single, “Nobody Really Cares” was released March 7th, 2025. To adapt the songs to a live setting, he formed The Realm of Possibility, featuring a rotating cast of musicians which allows the songs to take on the personalities of the people in the room at any given time. Through heavy improvisation, The Realm aims to create a completely unique concert experience at every show. The band has played regularly in New York and Washington, D.C. since 2023, sharing the stage with DOOM GONG and Joe May’s Month of Mondays.
Jake is a founding member of One Way Out and Dell'Acqua. In 2023, he self-produced One Way Out's third album, "Jimmy T's Place," and toured extensively, playing in Los Angeles and Nashville, as well as a support date for Elephant Stone, and THE BOBBY LEES on their final tour.
He also formed Dell'Acqua upon arriving in the city with a focus on extended psychedelic jams, often switching instruments multiple times in a set.
Jake has played guitar and drums for artists including Grace VanderWaal, Daffo, EmbassyRowe, Carter Lou and the Project and more.
Additionally, Jake has produced and engineered records for One Way Out, himself, Dell'Acqua, and Freddy Gang. He has studied recording with Ben Green, Bob Power, and Kenta Yonesaka. Similar to his live performances, Jake likes to approach recording with the intent to capture a specific moment in time, while honing in on the details.
